TV Main Board Replacement Versus Fixing

By Maria Butler

The television you had is experiencing some issues. Maybe it shows nothing but a black screen. You might be considering a TV main board replacement. You know that buying a new mainboard would cost much. You begin to wonder if you could only change the destroyed component to save some dollars. If you are that person then you are in the right place. Today I will talk about how to replace destroyed components in the mainboard.

The most common culprit of TV issues can be solved by simply replacing the EEPROM chip. This is the chip responsible for housing the firmware of your television set. When the firmware is corrupted issues will start occurring. This is the most part that could sustain damage since the program inside the chip is a very fragile one. It can be erased easily.

And since you we will be replacing the main board, we are required to have the substitute part. There are a lot of quality shops out there that sells replacement parts. Just make sure that the replacement part is the same model as the damaged part. This will prevent compatibility issues that might hinder you from totally repairing your TV.

After everything is prepared it is now time for us to jump into the actual process of the replacement. Brace yourself and get ready for an exciting adventure. Relax and let us dive in.

To remove the main board, we need to remove the rear cover first. Different models have different numbers of screws. You just have to remove all of them. Make sure to place them in a single place so that you can easily find all of them after we are done with the replacement. After removing all the screws, the rear cover can now be removed easily.

Let us now remove the central panel. To do this we need to remove the screws that hold it in place. Some models also have connectors that you should also need to be removed. Make sure to place the screws in one location to make it handy in the later part of the process. Gently lift the panel from the central chassis. Make sure no wires are destroyed in the process to avoid unnecessary damages to the chassis.

I would recommend replacing the damage component rather than buying the mainboard which actually costs more. You just need a few technical skills to perform the operations. And with enough patience, you might be able to bring back a dead television set back to life.

You would enjoy the feeling of doing a seemingly complex thing that actually saves you some dollar. It makes it more exciting. The ideas presented here is for the people that want to do more complex jobs. Doing this job is actually more rewarding.

There we have a very simple process of removing and replacing the main panel of your TV set. Note however that the guide is only to solve the problem that is caused by a faulty panel. There are other tutorials out there that teach us how to replace damaged components from the central panel. You can always check them out if you think you are ready for more electronic works.
