Fire Systems For Oceanside Restaurants

By Mark Mahaffey

As the owner of an Oceanside restaurant, you should be aware of the huge danger you are under of a fire breaking out. Fires are a danger that restaurant owners face; therefore, you should take steps to keep your customers protected from a fire emergency.

It is no surprise that restaurants are prone to fires. When you think about the equipment in the kitchen areas, it makes sense. Those big stoves and ovens produce a lot of heat. If a fire happens in a kitchen, it could very easily expand into a fire that invades the rest of your establishment.

If you want to reduce the risk of fire, you should put in a fire system. An advantage of a fire system is that it can be set up to notify you of smoke and heat as well. These systems can detect changes in temperature, so that if the temperature rises a lot, the sensors will notice and sound an alert to those in the building and to the company that monitors your service.

The security company can then send a message to your local fire department. They can then send their trucks and help put the fire out. Do you have sprinklers in your building? If not, you should have some of these installed so that when a fire happens, the sprinklers begin spraying water on it immediately.

Sprinklers can be programmed to turn on when the system is triggered. The benefit to having sprinklers is huge, because the water they spray can actually prevent the fire from spreading too much, making it easier for the fire workers to put out when they arrive.

Also, make sure that in your restaurant you have an evacuation plan. Your employees should know where all the exits are. Also, those employees should be instructed on the best ways to guide the patrons to safety.
