How to Have the correct Attitude

By Andrew Parker

There are a surprising number of individuals who believe that when they start in Internet Marketing they will be able to do a couple hours of work (at most) and then spend the rest of their days slacking, playing video games, watching daytime television, etc. You should recognize by now that this isn't how it works. Just like at each other job, the mentality you utilize throughout your day will be what helps you to succeed (or fail, as the case may be). If you believe "I do not want to do any work" then you can believe that you are not going to make any money. If you approach it seriously and keep a positive attitude, however, you could wind up making lots of money every day. Here are a number of things that will help you.

1. Handle it like a job, because it is a job. A lot of new Internet Marketers will plop themselves down on the chair with a laptop and their remote control. They assume that they're simply going to do a small bit of work and then spend the day vegging out. Allowing a television or radio to play in the background as ambient sound is one thing. Settling in to view it is totally another. Find or maybe purchase a table and do your work there. This can help you keep the doing the job time independent from the fun time. Sure you will likely think like you're back at a "regular" occupation but that's okay.

2. Set regular working hours for yourself. Perhaps the nicest factor about IM is that you have a much wider variety of working hours to choose from. The old fashioned nine to five mentality doesn't apply when you decide to make your living online. At the same time, it is very important that you make time for some hours every day to do your work. If your most fruitful working hours happen at dusk, set your evenings aside for doing work. The nice thing is that you'll be able to, over time, coach your body to be ready for work at certain times so after a while it wont feel like youre forcing yourself to do anything, youll just be doing it naturally.

3. Keep your outlook optimistic. This most likely sounds trite but it is true: remaining positive and telling yourself "I can do this" is usually what helps you succeed and achieve the goals you have set for yourself. It is not really unlike how, in telemarketing, people are told to actually smile while they talk because people can hear the smile. When you think "I'm good at what I do," "I will get this done" and "I will meet all of my goals today" that approach will infuse your work, customers will pick up on it and then they will think the same things about you.

You might be thinking that the whole "it is vital to have a good attitude" thing is trite and best left to daytime talk shows, but it holds true that most success is found by people who have a good attitude. If you set out with "okay money, find me" as your attitude you will not make anything but if you say "okay money, I'm coming for you" you'll make quite a lot.
