Your success lies in your MLM Training. The question is if this is better when delivered by the company or when it's delivered by a field leader?
My first MLM recruiting meeting was interesting. The focus was entirely on getting you signed up. When I asked them about the training and the plan for helping me achieve my dreams I was told that the company provided all of that. Just sign up. Well, that was a turnoff for me.
After I got involved in the industry I became sensitive to the fact that every person I persuaded to join me had their hearts and souls filled with hope. This was an enormous responsibility that I just couldn't take lightly. Without good training I knew they were on the road for failure.
As I interviewed people in my living room I came to realize that few had the background, skills, past experience and ability to make and sustain a commitment for success. They were looking to me. I had to find a way for them to look to themselves. By developing a powerful and comprehensive training system I was then able to relieve myself of the feelings of anxiety for their future success. Yes, their success WAS my responsibility, but they then shared in that responsibility by having to complete the lessons.
As I then reviewed multiple companies I discovered that almost all recruiters were simply sending their new members to the company training. In my opinion this is a recipe for disaster. But, worse a recipe that brought such damage to the industry that the industry still suffers from an image problem.
Few companies have been created or are now managed by people who have been in the field. Amazingly, members of the executive staffs sit down and attempt to write training for new members. That just doesn't work. FIELD TRAINING HAS TO BE PREPARED BY FIELD LEADERS. There's no other way.
If your company is like most companies they are promoting features. Features of their compensation plan, bonus programs, education and financial status of their executives, etc. FEATURES do not sell. BENEFITS SELL.
You see, the company's training is on FEATURES while training as developed by field leaders is on BENEFITS. Prospects want to exactly how a product will benefit them, how the compensation plan can actually deliver a fat monthly check to their mailbox, how the upcoming conference will build their downline. Those are BENEFITS. They do the job for us.
Some companies have finally decided to make maximum use of the internet with beautiful websites, incredibly informative back offices, increased electronic communications, etc. However, none of these, from what I can see, have reached out to meet the real needs of the field.
You see, we need the ability to immediately interact with prospects who are looking for exactly what we have to offer. And, we need to be able to do this in REAL TIME. So far, these tools have been perfected only by FIELD LEADER ORGANIZATIONS.
